An acorn already has everything it needs within to create a mighty oak tree

Hi! I’m Rachel (she/her/hers).

I created Acorn Psychotherapy because I wanted to cultivate an empowering healing environment without a pathologizing lens.

I’m here to help you get in touch with your thoughts & emotions in a compassionate way. I’m passionate about creating a safe environment where you can explore your experiences and the impacts these experiences have had on you. I’m on a mission to help folks heal from trauma and cultivate caring relationships within themselves.

Here are a few fun facts about me:

  • I’m an avid fiction & fantasy reader

  • I’m a mom

  • I love jigsaw puzzles

  • I have two cats and a dog

  • I’m a Highly Sensitive Person (HSP)

  • I absolutely love being a therapist

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Certified Internal Family Systems (IFS) Therapist, EMDR trained, & Certified Experiential Therapist (Level II). I graduated with my Master’s Degree from Bryn Mawr College Graduate School of Social Work and Social Research.

I have written about IFS therapy and have led personal growth & professional growth focused workshops on the topic. It is one of my favorite things to talk about!

I specialize in working with survivors of trauma, women, LGBTQIA+ folks, new moms/NICU parents (NICU parents hold a special place in my heart because I am a proud NICU mom), difficulties in relationships/couples, OCD, anxiety, & depression.
