Get to Know Rachel Longer

At Acorn Psychotherapy, we're fortunate to have a team of skilled and compassionate therapists who are dedicated to helping our clients live their best lives. In this Therapist Spotlight, we'd like to introduce you to our founder and director, Rachel Longer (she/her), LCSW, Certified Internal Family Systems Therapist.

Rachel works primarily with Millenial and GenZ adults, LGBTQIA+ folks, and couples to help them explore a wide range of challenges and achieve their goals. She has a particular passion for helping clients experiencing trauma/ptsd, anxiety, depression, OCD, high sensitivity, struggles with body image, relationship issues, shame, postpartum difficulties, and perfectionism/burnout.

Rachel's love of the performing arts and storytelling led her to pursue her education in psychology and social work, and brought her to her work as a therapist. She believes that everyone has a story to tell and that therapy can be a powerful tool for helping people find greater connection within themselves and within their relationships.

In her work with clients, Rachel takes a collaborative and holistic approach, drawing on a range of evidence-based modalities to develop a personalized treatment plan that meets each client's unique needs and goals. She has a particular expertise in Internal Family Systems Therapy, which helps clients explore the different parts of themselves and develop greater self-awareness and compassion.

Outside of her work as a therapist, Rachel loves to bake, read fantasy fiction, see Broadway plays and musicals, travel, work on jigsaw puzzles, and spend time with friends and family.
